Industrial applications of chemistry

The operations of the Kokkola Region Centre of Expertise are based on solid competence in the applied use of chemistry in industry. We specialise in the chemical industry, other industries using chemicals, nanotechnology, and forest chemistry.

We provide SMEs with the information they need, for instance on new research outcomes, technologies, patents, trends and internationalisation. In addition, we can help them to assess the viability of refining ideas into profitable business and to test products in laboratory conditions or in the Chemplant pilot plant of Central Ostrobothnia University of Applied Sciences.

We find the right expert to help each enterprise with its business development. In addition to introducing company representatives to researchers, we can find potential partners in other companies. Our centre of expertise provides businesses with access to national and international ventures, and with links to experts around Finland and the world. We can also assist in starting up business partnerships.
