Specialist competencies can be found e.g. in products and services related to active lifestyles and fitness, self-care concepts for long-term illnesses and outsourced product development in medical technology. Areas of focus are as follows:

- innovative products and services that promote independent living, well-being and health care
- products and services related to human measurements and fitness
- concepts, commercialisation, product development and business competence
- the North American market
