Energy Technology
Satakunta has a long tradition of mechanical engineering, and we have diversified energy infrastructure which together provide the Satakunta Centre of Expertise with great basis for the implementation of its national focus areas in the cluster programme:
The FinNuclear Programme (development of expertise in nuclear energy)
Solar energy and offshore wind power
Magnet technology – generation, transmission and consumption of electricity
Future energy technologies - hydrogen technology as well as carbon capture and storage (CCS)
The development environments generated by the Satakunta Centre of Expertise, i.e. the Magnet Technology Centre, the FinNuclear Unit and Äetsä Hydrogen Village also carry out the Satakunta Centre of Expertise Energy Technology Programme in their own subfields.
