Development centre for functional foods

The strength of the Functional Foods Forum of the University of Turku lies in sensory quality competence in both research and sensory quality, ranging from product profiles produced using a trained panel to consumer focus groups and staff training. Top-level research in sensory quality focuses on the taste properties and interactions of health-promoting compounds and on the effect of genes on perceived taste. FFF’s advanced research on foods that promote and maintain health, conducted in cooperation with other faculties of the University of Turku, forms a multidisciplinary basis for extensive business partnerships.
