Maritime

The strategy behind the Maritime Cluster programme is to enhance the creation of innovative business activities, products and services, the productivity of processes of networks and companies and the availability of competent labour.

The goals of the programme include the activation, unification and enhancement of the development, education, and applied research of maritime industry, shipping and their supporting SMEs. The focus of the programme lies in the shipbuilding, offshore and boat industries.

By participating in the Maritime Competence Cluster, the Centre of Expertise for Western Finland strives to ensure the leading position of the companies belonging to the cluster in the area in relation to the following fields: production technology, environmental technology, trustworthiness, economy and automation.
