Developing health and well-being

Finnish Health and Well-being Cluster is a development platform for health and well-being services and associated technologies.

Our aim is to make Finland a very attractive and competitive region of health and well-being by supporting Finnish health and well-being enterprises to gain access to the global markets. We network companies and research institutions, initiate various business related projects, and support strengthening of expertise in health and well-being sector.

Our objectives are:

  • To create new hi-tech enterprises
  • To promote development, growth and internationalization of health and well-being enterprises
  • To support R&D and efficient exploitation of expertise in products, business, and promotion of health
  • To increase national and international cooperation To actively develop the innovation environments and boost the innovation activity
  • To support specialization of the centers of excellence

Tne Centres of Expertises that are part of Haelth and Well-Beign Cluster are Kuopio Centre of Expertise (Kuopio Innovation Oy), Oulu Centre of Expertise (Oulu Wellness Instituuttisäätiö), Tampere Centre of Expertise (Finn-Medi Tutkimus Oy), Helsinki Region Centre of Expertise (Culminatum Innovation Oy).

Strategic Focus Areas

Health technology
Health technology refers to technology in health care and medical science. In other words, the multidisciplinary zone where the accessories, instruments, equipment and systems as well as diagnostics and supporting data systems used in health care and medicine have been and are being developed.

Health and wellbeing services

Well-being services are a holistic definition that comprises health, doctor, nursing, social, household management, and supplementary /alternative services.

Ambient assisted living technologies and concepts

Technologies and services for ambient assisted living aim at increasing individuals’ capacity to cope with everyday’s practices.

Sport and fitness businesses

By developing new technologies and concepts for sports and fitness we support creation of new solutions for prevention of diseases and promotion of health.
