Responsible nanotechnology

Nanotechnology Cluster Programme is an efficient network and gateway to the expertise of Finnish nano- and microtechnologies and future materials. We are linking research and business in order to foster the transfer of new technologies into companies and products.

Finland is committed to global efforts to carry out sustainable development policy. Nanotechnology is one strategic tool in striving for sustainability and competitiveness. The Finnish Nanotechnology Cluster has been committed to responsible development and use of nanotechnology from the beginning and will emphasize this approach in the future.

We invite all those who share this position and aim at finding solutions into national or global challenges to join us. Our ambition is to launch new projects and ventures in collaboration with partners from industry and research institutes.

Joining Nanotechnology Cluster Programme means easy access to world class expertise in universities, research institutes and technology companies all over Finland. Furthermore, it means expertise and services in the Finnish innovation system.

Networking and activating co-operation between the various partners is our main tool.

The Cluster Programme aims at applications in industries like ICT, electronics, mechanical engineering, construction, forest, energy, environment, chemical, health and well-being.

The Centres of Expertise that are part of Nanotechnoly Cluster Programme are Helsinki Region Centre of Expertise (Culminatum Ltd Oy), Jyväskylä Region Centre of Expertise (Jyväskylä Innovation Ltd), Kokkola Region Centre of Expertise (Technology Centre KETEK Ltd), Mikkeli Region Centre of Expertise (Mikkeli Technology Centre Ltd), North Karelia Region Centre of Expertise (Joensuu Science Park Ltd), Oulu Region Centre of Expertise (Oulu Innovation Ltd / Micropolis Oy) and Tampere Region Centre of Expertise (Technology Centre Hermia Ltd)
