Artturi Tarjanne

Artturi Tarjanne has 20 years of entrepreneurial Infocom industry experience. Mr. Tarjanne is well known and referenced in Finland for his track record as one of the pioneering successful software entrepreneurs and organizers of industry interests at large. He is also a sought after mentor and advisor for Infocom entrepreneurs.

Mr. Tarjanne is deeply networked in the Finnish technology start-up community and has served as a board member or advisor in over a dozen early stage Infocom companies. He is an active contributor in several Finnish public and private organizations and has served as a board member in e.g. the Finnish Information Processing Association (FIPA), the Finnish Software Entrepreneurs Association, and Software Products Industry (SPIN) programme of TEKES, the National Technology Agency of Finland.

In 1997, Mr. Tarjanne founded AT Consulting Ltd offering management consulting services for information technology entrepreneurs. In 1992, Mr. Tarjanne co-founded Solid Information Technology Ltd, the leading developer of embedded data management platforms. Acting as the CEO and President of Solid, Mr. Tarjanne was given the annual Innosuomi Award ("Innovation Finland") by the President of Finland.

Nicholas R. S. Evans
SRI Consulting Business Intelligence Inc.

Nick Evans is a Vice President and Member of the Board of Directors of SRI Consulting Business Intelligence Inc. He is an experienced team leader based in London, England, where he is responsible for directing SRIC-BI’s European business activities, and its global technology evaluation service Explorer. Dr. Evans was the creator of the Explorer service, which monitors and assesses opportunities for commercialization of some 34 emerging technologies. He is an experienced consultant, having led and supervised numerous projects in which the key requirement was evaluation of the impact on clients of emerging and disruptive technologies and of their potential commercial opportunities—to help business and government clients focus their technology needs and strategies toward new business and activities. Most recently he led the SRIC-BI team identifying potentially disruptive technologies for the U.S. National Intelligence Council’s report Global Trends 2025: A Transformed World.

Before joining SRIC-BI in 1985, Dr. Evans was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Rayne Institute, St. Thomas’s Hospital, London, where he continued his University of London Ph.D. research into immunological and viral causes of multiple sclerosis, following a B.Sc. in Biophysical Science.

Francesca Rosella and Ryan Genz
CuteCircuit Ltd

CuteCircuit founders are Francesca Rosella and Ryan Genz. Francesca and Ryan both hold a Master in Interaction Design from Interaction Design Institute Ivrea. As researchers in Ivrea Francesca and Ryan developed projects for Sony, Hitachi, Telecom Italia, and Motorola. The projects ranged from interface design to service design and product development.

Francesca is an architect and graphic designer, and has worked as fashion designer for Esprit in Germany and Valentino in Italy. Francesca is an expert in the development of telecommunication services, user interface design, and textile engineering.

Ryan is an artist and anthropologist who has worked as art director for Signal Interactive and ASAP Media Services in United States. Ryan is specialized in motion graphics, computer programming, and wireless networks, he also worked as film/video director specializing in the creation of future scenarios.

Antti Korhonen

Antti Korhonen has over 20 years of experience in high tech and IT industries in international sales and marketing leadership and product management. Prior to Ekahau, Mr. Korhonen worked at Vaisala Inc., Boston, MA, USA, as a General Manager of Vaisala's Industrial Business Division. Mr. Korhonen holds a B.Sc. Degree in Computer Science, from Oulu University of Applied Sciences Finland, and is a graduate of MIT/Sloan GBEP Executive Management program, Cambridge, MA.

Yrjö Neuvo
European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT)

Dr. Neuvo obtained his PhD degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York. Between 1976-1992 he was Professor of electrical engineering at the Tampere University of Technology and between 1984-1993 a National Research Professor of the Academy of Finland. In 1993 he joined the Nokia Group as Senior Vice President of Technology, before being made Senior Vice President, Product Creation (1994) and then Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer (1999). He was Member of the Nokia Group Executive Board between 1993-2005. He has been the Chairman or Member of numerous Boards and working groups internationally and was notably the Chairman of the ARTEMIS Joint Technology Initiative (JTI) Governing Board and President of Artemisia until 2008.

Dr. Neuvo is currently Professor and Research Director at the Helsinki University of Technology and Member of the Board of two listed companies, Metso and Vaisala.

Konstantin Hyppönen
University of Kuopio

Konstantin Hyppönen has received an MSc in Computer Science from the University of Kuopio, Finland and an MSc degree with a major in Mathematics from the University of Petrozavodsk, Russia. His research interests include security of Java and Java Card technologies, smart cards, mobile payment systems, and mobile identity management solutions. He has previously worked as an instructor on a dozen of computer science courses, with an emphasis on security-related disciplines, and coordinated an international Master's programme in Computer Science at the University of Kuopio. Mr. Hyppönen is an author of about a dozen of peer-reviewed academic publications in the field of data security. He has been in research training with the East Finland Graduate School in Computer Science and Engineering, and successfully defended his PhD thesis in March 2009.
